Lizzie offers somatics (in the generative somatic lineage) for individuals, couples, groups and organizations looking to embody safety, dignity, AND belonging. Politicized somatics to heal and build skills for a generative and connected future.
One of the things that I love the most about this methodology is that the body learns on YES! We follow our longings and change becomes possible. So different from the entrenched culture of fixing ourselves.

Somatics... what even is it?
Somatics is a word stemming from the greek word Soma; the living organism in its fullness. Somatics as a methodology is a response to the Cartesian western beliefs of "I think therefore I am." which teach us a hierarchy of our parts.
As living beings we are more than our minds, more than just our bodies; we are thinking, feeling, meaning making, relational beings with a biological imperative to survive. How we survive is shaped by the conditions, relationships, systems and culture we live within; and in a world that encourages supremacy and domination as the best way to survive, violence and conditioning keep us far from the kinds of lives and relationships that we deeply long for.
Somatics is a methodology that heals trauma through the body so we can be present, open, connected and take actions aligned with what we care about -even under pressure. It is a path to embodied transformation. Somatics as a methodology can be applied to individuals, groups, and organizations. It can be deeply personally healing and also support powerful leadership and collective organizing.
generative Somatics serves individual bodies and collective bodies.
Some new embodied skills may include:
Ability to stay present in the midst of conflict and connection.
A sense of personal and collective power and impact
A felt sense of worth and seeing the dignity in others
Centered Accountability - able to face harms done and make amends without disappearing the worthiness of self or others
Able to make requests and set boundaries
Ability to safely experience a range of emotions- to be present for self experience and for others of joy, resilience and gratitude to anger, rage and grief.
Healing internalized oppression and superiority
Taking bold new actions for the sake of what you care about
generative Somatics Methodology consists of three primary focuses for transformation:
Building somatic awareness (How does this body respond under pressure?)
Engaging in Somatic Practice and building skills (centering under pressure, resilience, consent and boundary practices, allyship, being with contradictions, making impact)
Opening and healing trauma held in the body (deeply being with what is held in the body so contractions can complete making more space for new practices, that serve, are able to take root)
Sessions are centered on what the individual or group is looking to embody that they don't have now. We engage in practices to build awareness and new skills that make opening old contractions possible. On the other side of opening we deepen into new skills towards embodiment.
Participants are asked to cultivate a daily practice that supports their transformation because we are what we practice, and we are always practicing something. What are you practicing?
